Tiger Woods
Well my prediction of Tiger Woods winning the U.S Open and THREE Majors this year have come to a crumble after Tiger missed the cut for the first time in his career in a major. Coming off a 9 week layoff after his fathers death this definitely wasn't the course you wanted to come back from. Here is my beef with the PGA, what the heck are you trying to prove???? People do not wanna watch golfers go +1 or even to win a tournament. Do you think people wanna watch golf on the weekend with no Tiger and a bunch of guys struggling if they hit it into the rough??? I haven't caught any of this tournament and I will not catch any of it. I will watch the Stanley cup and NBA finals this weekend. Hopefully the PGA does something soon before they start losing their fan base.

Overall I agree, but do disagree somewhat.
Firstly, it was sad to see Tiger miss his first cut in a major. Though it pains me more to try comprehend what he is going through on this his first Father's Day without his dad Earl. My thoughts are with Tiger and hope to see him come on strong with two majors left.
As for the U.S. Open, it is a great tournament. This is America's Major. While I disagree with you Matt about now one wanting to watch this, or this hurting there ratings, I don't find that to be true. It is fun to watch the best in the world for these courses force them to be creative and test their skills to the max. I do agree with you though that this is getting out of hand. Progressively every year these courses, rough lengths and other factors come together to get more challenging every year. At some point Matt's theory will be true and they need to get this mind. That much I will agree with indeed. It will be interesting to see who pulls it out today and what their final score is at the end of the day. Go Lefty!
One another note, the beef is with the USGA, not the PGA. Happy Father's day to all dads!
